How to make the perfect omelet

Omelets is one of my favourite breakfast foods. How do you make them perfect? I've tried many recipes and different methods but none have worked. So I am sharing some tips and tricks today to help you make fluffy, delicious omelets every morning.

When making omelets, it is important to be aware that eggs can be temperamental. It is important that eggs are fresh from an organic market and kept cool until used. If they are not kept cold enough, the whites won’t form properly. The yolks will also break down too quickly and become runny. This makes your omelets look weirdly colored. If you're going to cook them immediately, it is best if the eggs are still warm.

Another tip is to separate the egg before adding it to the pan. You don't want any white to get mixed up with the yolk because this could cause the omelet to curdle.

The bottom part of an egg that is added directly to the stovetop might be burned, which could cause a ruined texture in your omelet. Instead, microwave the egg for 10 seconds before adding it to the pan. The microwave heat cooks your egg just right, without it becoming too soft.

Next, let’s talk about mixing the egg. When you mix eggs together, you want to beat them well. You can do this by turning the bowl of your mixer upside down. Then shake the bowl vigorously. This will whip the air around the bowl and mix the egg well.

Now comes the fun part - pouring the milk into the mixture. Mix half of the milk with the eggs. Then fold the eggs in half into the remaining milk. Do not worry if you see streaks of egg; they will disappear when the omelet is flipped.

After folding the eggs, place the pan on medium heat and wait for the oil to start sizzling. When the oil is hot enough, add 1/4 cup butter to the pan. Stir it around until the butter covers the entire pan. Now carefully crack open the lid of the pan and sprinkle salt into the pan. A pinch of salt will prevent your omelet from sticking in the pan.

Once the omelet has formed, cover the pan again and wait for the top side to set completely. Flip the omelet upside down or with a spatula. Cook the other side for about a minute. Serve immediately after removing the omelet from its pan.

This recipe works best with whole milk, but skimmed milk also works.
